江泽民总书记在1990年6月召开的全国党校校长会议上指出:“现在这一代干部,特别是50岁以下的中青年干部,是跨世纪的一代,正生活和工作在我国社会主义现代化建设发展的关键时期,肩负着承前启后、继往开来的历史责任,经受着执政的考验,改革、开放的考验,反和平演变的考验。他们的素质如何,能否经得住这些考验,胜任党的任务的要求,能否正确判断风云变幻的国际形势,关系到我国现代化建设的成败,关系到党和国家的盛衰兴亡,关系到社会主义在中国的命运。”因此,对广大共产党员,特别是党员领导干部来讲,只有增强党性,才能增强共产主义信念,站稳无产阶级立场,坚定地贯彻执行党的基本路线;才能在实际行动中全心全意为人民服务;才能在复杂的环境中不迷失方向;才能维护党的团结和统一,领导群众不断前进。

Only by doing so can we safeguard the unity and unification of the party and lead the masses in moving forward.
