为人正直,不管在那工作,都以主人翁的姿态出现,这是大家对康辉师傅的一致评价。在工作的岗位上,无论是大型国宴或其他重要宴会,凡是他亲自参与组织工作的,每次都非常出色完成;在平时工作中,即使客人点的便餐小炒,他烹制时也从不会含糊,因而工作几十年赞誉不断。康辉师傅1985年荣获北京市劳动模范称号;1987年当选为中国烹饪协会常务理事;1988年在日本举行的第二次国际烹饪大赛中担任评委;2002年被北京烹饪协会命名为“北京国宝级烹饪大师”。在中国厨界提起粤菜烹饪大师康辉,他高超的技艺,勤恳的工作态度,正直的为人品质,无人不知,广为称颂。他从厨七十多年,高超的技艺和勤恳的工作态度,不凡的人生经历让很多后辈人为之敬佩、折服。
