汤姆斯·库芬(Thomas Kufen)(德国埃森市市长):尊敬的陈先生,胡部长,福立柯(Fricke)先生,吴漠汀先生,尊敬的女士们、先生们:大家好,非常欢迎您来到埃森。感谢您值曹雪芹三百周年诞辰之际来到鲁尔区参加欧洲第三届《红楼梦》国际学术研讨会。虽经几世纪风雨,《红楼梦》风华不减。这部中国文学史上分量极重的作品至今仍是学界研究和讨论的热门对象。各位能从中国以及世界各地赶来参加今天的会议就是对此最好的证明。

Thank you for coming to Ruhr district to attend the 3rd International Symposium on “Dream of Red Mansions” in Europe on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Cao Xueqin. Despite centuries of ups and downs, “Dream of Red Mansions” unabated. This heavy volume of work in the history of Chinese literature is still a popular target for academic research and discussion. It is the best proof that all of you can come to China today and all over the world to attend today’s meeting.
