In this paper, we propose a quality factor for the launch tube system as a measure of performance, and find out the relationship between the electrode size and the quality factor, so that designers can evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of various solutions before making the tube. A good camera launch system must meet three basic requirements: 1. Beam current is large enough; 2. High resolution; 3. Low discharge inertness. In order to analyze the impact of the launch system on the resolution of the entire tube, it must be clear what is the “object” of the main lens. So far there is no correct concept of this fundamental problem. This article points out the “object” position at the intersection. The axis of the current density of the largest, the radial current density is the most steep, the corresponding “image” the highest resolution. Also pointed out that the effective size of “things” is only part of the intersection.
