1995年5月18日上午,来自全国30个省、市、自治区的数学家代表,中国数学会新、老领导,理事,近300人欢聚在北京清华大学主楼接待厅,庆祝中国数学会的60华诞(1935～1995年);同时举行中国数学会第七次代表大会暨60周年年会开幕式,国际著名的美籍华裔数学家陈省身、丘成桐,旅美研究卓有成效的我国青年数学家林芳华、田刚,都专程回国参加这次大会;香港数学会的代表杨重骏、廖明哲应邀到会同庆,出席开幕式的还有中国科协主席朱光亚、国家自然科学基金委主任张存浩、中国科学院常务副院长路甬祥、清华大学校长王大中等有关领导。
On the morning of May 18, 1995, representatives of mathematicians from 30 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions across the country, new and old leaders and directors of the Chinese Mathematical Society, and nearly 300 people gathered in the reception hall of the main building of Tsinghua University in Beijing to celebrate the 60 Chinese Mathematical Society. The Chinese New Year (1935-1995); the 7th Congress of the Chinese Mathematical Society and the 60th Anniversary of the Opening Ceremony of the Conference, the famous Chinese mathematicians Chen Shengshen and Qiu Chengtong, and the young American mathematician Lin Fanghua and Tian Tian Just returned to China to attend the conference. Hong Kong Mathematical Society representatives Yang Zhongjun and Liao Mingzhe were invited to attend the ceremony. The opening ceremony was attended by Zhu Guangya, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, Zhang Cunhao, Director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Deputy Director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Lu Yongxiang and Wang Dazhong, president of Tsinghua University, gave relevant leadership.
