将水稻和大白菜种子装在牛皮纸袋中与一定量的干燥剂(硅胶或生石灰)密封于铝箔袋或磨口玻璃瓶中进行干燥,可使种子水分达到超干燥水平(水分低于5%)。该方法利用种子包装容器作干燥器,使干燥过程在体积很小的密封容器中进行,不但节约了干燥成本,而且可以同时干燥大量种子。采用生石灰作干燥剂成本很低,但容易使种子受到伤害。用硅胶作干燥剂虽然单价较高,但通过重复利用,可以使干燥成本下降。两种密封容器均可用于保存超干燥种子。但铝箔袋比玻璃瓶轻便,体积小,易于密封。因此,在有条件的情况下,建议用硅胶和铝箔袋作为种子超干燥的干燥剂和包装容器
