Recently, when I read the “Language Training Materials” compiled by a school, I found the translation of the book “The Great Rat” on page 89. This translation is at the very least incorrect. The editor translated the “rat” into “: earth mouse”. As I speculated, it was probably influenced by the “The Translation of the Book of Songs” published by Mr. Li Changzhi in 1956 or “Chinese Literature” published by Mr. Yang Gongyi in 1957. Mr. Li Changzhi translated the “rat” into “big mouse” on the 65th page of the book; Mr. Yang Gongxi also made the “rat” a “big rat” in the first volume of the book. However, translating into “big mouse” or “tertiary mouse” is wrong and cannot be disputed. First of all, we should examine the word “shuo rat” itself: “shuo rat” is a simple word and cannot be synthesized
