In 1992, U.S. President George W. Bush, in a letter to Central Americans who participated in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the bombing of Tokyo, said: “To the survivors who participated in this heroic feat and to the Chinese who rescue the drop-parachutists Greetings! ”The letter refers to the U.S. aid pilots who landed in China’s Zhejiang province and other places were rescued by the local people after the U.S. air force launched an air attack on Japan in April 1942. Zhejiang Provincial Archives, and archives of Jiangshan, Changchang, Xiangshan and other places better preserved archives reflecting this historical fact, including such things as crash fragments. Based on these archives and historical records, together with some chronicles, the author gives an overview of the soul-stirring time and reviews the fighting friendships between the Chinese people and the U.S. pilots who stand shoulder to shoulder with each other.
