雄黄临床常用干解毒、杀虫,为毒剧药物之一。其成分除二硫化二砷外,尚含少量砷的氧化物及重金属盐,三氧化二砷(砒霜)是造成其常量中毒的主要成分。因此,雄黄在应用前需经炮制。古本草多数载为干研法、水飞法和煮法等,《中国药典》85年版规定,雄黄以干研或水飞法炮制。但由于雄黄来源复杂,质量差异较大,故有用水飞法除砷效果不明显的报道。实际即使原药材质量相同、但水飞后干燥温度和粉碎度的不同,对其质量亦有很大影响。现在我们用银盐比色法对其
