In natural waters inorganic mercury (Hg) and methylmercury (MeHg) are complexed with a variety of inorganic and organic ligands, such as OH-, Cl-, sulfide, thiols, and dissolved organic matter (DOM). The bioavailability and toxicity of Hg and MeHg are rel
