汕头市潮阳区金灶镇地处潮普揭三地交界,是一个纯农经济的山区老区镇,总人口14万人,其中老区人口5万多人。该镇早在1945年便建立了地下党组织,在粤东地下党组织的领导下,配合闽粤赣边纵二支部队,为解放粤东做出了牺牲和奉献,成为东江革命根据地小北山的一面鲜艳红旗。该镇镇委书记陈悦明于2011年到任后,和镇长陈敏镌、镇人大副主席以及镇老促会会长陈天忠等一起,翻山越岭,深入老区、山区,倾听老区人民呼声,求计问策。
