歧义是外语或第二语言学习中的一个主要特点,在学习英语的过程中,中国学生明显会遇到来自语音、词汇、句法及语义等多方面的歧义。本次调查目的在于了解英语专业专科学生歧义容忍度的高低及其对英语阅读成绩的影响,研究结果显示英语专业专科生歧义容忍度较低,且与阅读成绩具有相关性,歧义容忍度越高的学生,其英语阅读成绩越好,此研究结果对教学具有一定的借鉴意义。
Ambiguity is a major feature of foreign language or second language learning. In the process of learning English, Chinese students obviously encounter ambiguities in many aspects such as pronunciation, vocabulary, syntax, and semantics. The purpose of this survey is to understand the level of ambiguity tolerance of English majors and their impact on English reading scores. The results show that the ambiguity of English specialty students is low, and they are correlated with reading scores. The higher the ambiguity tolerance is, the higher the ambiguity tolerance is. For students, the better their English reading results, the results of this study have a certain reference value for teaching.
