JL8飞机是南昌飞机制造公司在K-8教练/攻击机的成功基础上,又设计制造出的供我军使用的基础教练机。该机除具有教练机的一般用途外,还可担负一定的对空对地作战任务。无论用作飞行训练还是攻击训练,JL8飞机的性能均优于空军现役的歼教5飞机。鉴于JL8飞机优秀性能,空军将在近年内用JL8飞机逐步取代歼教5飞机。届时,空军的训练体制和训练效能都将发生很大的变化。
