Phillip Rose published his new book “The Ghost Exit” in 2007 and announced that it was the last novel to be Nathan Zuckerman’s narrator or hero. This article mainly analyzes this novel from the angle of narratology, and regards it as another experiment and innovation made by Rose in narrative techniques. The author seems intent on playing a game with the reader, using his complex and varied narrative techniques to draw the reader’s attention to its repeated emphasis, and indeed the eternal theme of literary creation: endless human desires and inevitable decay and death Huge contradictions.
