Inhibition of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase is currently considered a new advance in the prevention of AIDS. Natural products have been widely used as inhibitors of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (HIV-1 RT). The authors developed a method for the detection of HIV-1 in virions as a screening method for the inhibitory effect of natural products on HIV-1 RT. The authors screened 156 natural products. Inhibitors of Bird’s Rift’s haemotoxemia reverse transcriptase Benzophenanthroline alkaloids fagarnonine chloride and nitidine chloride have significant activity on HIV-1RT, Compounds were used as a positive control at screening.
