本刊讯戏曲走在低谷之中。戏曲的“理论热”却有增无已。6月中,来自24个省、市、自治区和中直文艺系统的55位戏曲学术界志士仁人,聚集徐州,共商中国戏曲学会的方针大计,要把戏曲学术活动推进到一个新的阶段。会长张庚在开幕式上以《当前戏曲的形势和戏曲学会的任务》为题作了长篇讲话。他说,我们不赞成戏曲衰亡论。戏曲是有广泛群众基础的艺术,要它灭亡谈何容易!我们也不赞成盲目乐观。千万不要以为有些外国人喜爱,戏曲就好得不得了,就证明它没有缺点。戏曲的历史的确辉煌,但到了今天,它要前进,要延续其艺术生命,必须有大的改进,大的提高。我们仅仅用过去戏改的经验去搞戏而没有新的东西,就不能适应时代,适应新一代观众的需要了。近些年演出了不少新的戏曲,有一种开创性,有一股闯劲。我
