曾经被台湾文坛称为“坛主”的梁实秋,是台湾最负盛名的散文作家、翻译家。梁实秋本名梁治华,1903年1月6日(光绪二十八年十二月初八,即“腊八”)生于北京。1923年毕业于清华学校,赴美国留学,研究英语和英美文学。1926年回国,在多所大学担任教授,在三十年代曾经与鲁迅论战,最初是从文学的翻译问题见解不同而引起,后来涉及政治。鲁迅指斥梁实秋为“丧家的资本家的乏走狗”。1942年毛泽东《在延安文艺座谈会上的讲话》也批评了梁实秋。1949年6月梁实秋赴台湾,多年在台湾担任教授。他的散文代表作《雅舍小品》风靡海峡两岸,颇负盛誉。他以37年时间独立翻译了《莎
Liang Shih-ch’iu, once known as “Altar Lord” by Taiwan’s literary world, is Taiwan’s most prestigious essayist and translator. Liang Shiqiu, whose real name is Liang Zhihua, was born in Beijing on January 6, 1903 (eighth day of the eighth year of Guangxu in December of the same year, that is, “Laba”). In 1923 graduated from Tsinghua University, went to the United States to study, study English and Anglo-American literature. Returning to China in 1926, working as a professor at a number of universities, and having argued with Lu Xun in the 1930s were originally caused by differences in literary translation issues and later political issues.
