蛋形陶瓮(以下简称“蛋形瓮”)是具有鲜明地域和时代特征的一类器物。其器物造型大体类似一个竖立着的大型蛋,上端稍削去一部分,留作口部,圜底装接足,或直接制成平底,以增加其稳定性。从目前发表的资料看,蛋形瓮产生于龙山时代晚期,历经夏、商、西周,直到春秋早期才逐渐消失。地域上主要分布在内蒙古中南部、晋陕间的黄河两岸、晋中南及关中地区。其影响所及,南至豫西黄河南岸,北抵阴山,西迄陇东,东达京津等广大地区。
Egg-shaped ceramic urn (hereinafter referred to as “egg-shaped urn”) is a distinctive region and the characteristics of a class of objects. Its shape is roughly similar to that of a large, erect egg. The upper part is slightly cut away, left for the mouth, and the bottom of the bottle is connected to the foot or directly flattened to increase its stability. From the information published at present, the egg-shaped urn was produced in the late Longshan era, after summer, Shang and Western Zhou Dynasty, until the early Spring and Autumn gradually disappear. The area is mainly distributed in central and southern Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and Shaanxi between the Yellow River, Jinzhongnan and Guanzhong areas. Its impact, south to the south bank of the Yellow River in western Henan, north Yinshan, west Longdong, East Beijing and Tianjin and other vast areas.
