  【Abstract】Creativity is the ability of human beings to break through old knowledge, old things, and explore valuable new knowledge. It exists in a variety of situations and can be cultivated in a variety of ways. For the record, English teaching can achieve this goal. And if English teachers develop students’ innovative thinking and improve their innovative ability, the innovative talents will be created. Based on this background, this paper tries to analyze the cultivation of students’ creative ability in English teaching.

  In current quality education, we need a person of comprehensive ability, thus this type of qualified personnel should be advocated actively, and all kinds of people’s potentials should be developed at the same time. In fact, with the rapid economic development of our country, all walks of life are constantly innovating in order to get more competitive. So a large number of innovative talents are needed in the future, which requires the school education to cultivate students’ innovative ability in the process of quality education. Among them, as an important tool subject, English can make students have a solid basic knowledge of English and have ability to communicate with other people, so as to form a good habit of learning, laying a solid foundation for further study. In English teaching, it is an important goal to form students’ good thinking and behavior habits and to cultivate students’ creative ability. Based on this, this paper attempts to understand the importance of the cultivation of innovative ability in English teaching, and analyzes the cultivation methods of innovative ability so as to achieve the purpose of improving students’ innovative ability.
  1. The importance of training innovation ability during the English teaching
  As a communicative tool, the evolution, the process in which people learn, grasp and use all show the ingenuity and the creativity of human beings. In English teaching, the cultivation of students’ innovative ability can not only promote the all-round development of students, speed up the reform of the educational system, but also help to improve the quality of English teaching and promote the development of school education.
  Promoting students’ all-round development
  At present, with the increasing speed of knowledge updating, the world has entered a new era of knowledge economy, and as a universal language, English is an important part to make the students master the language skills, improve their language skills and strengthen their ability of social practice. At the same time, because the goal of China’s social development is building the well-off society and realizing the common prosperity, which requires schools to make a great contribution to the completion of a comprehensive well-off society, and to cultivate innovative talents with higher quality. In fact, combining the English teaching with students’ creative ability can promote students’ all-round development, and it also has a practical significance on cultivating students’ sound personality.   2. The culture methods of students’ innovative ability during the English teaching
  After recognizing the importance of cultivating students’ creative ability in English teaching, this part attempts to analyze the relevant methods to improve students’ creative ability in English teaching.
  Using the innovative educational materials
  In current English textbooks, many lively and innovative contents can be seen, so the English teacher should not only guide students to learn, but also can seize the opportunity to use these materials to guide the students creativity in the learning process.
  For example, the third JEFC introduces a story of American inventor Thomas Edison’s childhood, and the first introduces the legend of the famous cartoon master Walt Diey, so English teachers can inspire and guide students to learn from this legend good brains, diligent, innovative spirit when teaching these lessons.
  Conclusion
  Innovation ability has become the core content of basic education, and it will also become the initiative of social economic growth. And for teachers, training creative talents is their sacred duty and mission, and English teaching is no exception . As long as teachers guide students to explore and solve problems, to cultivate students’ pioneering spirit and sense of innovation from many aspects in English teaching, the students’ creative thinking ability will be developed and improved, so that the English classroom truly become a stage where the students can show the innovation ability.
