China Issues Report on CBM Utilization Pilot Projects The National Energy Administration underNDRC (the National Development and Re-form Commission) issued a report on themanagement and utilization of coalbed meth-ane (CBM) pilot projects, related technol-ogy and progress made in equipment manu-facturing at the end of July.NDRC arranged the construction of tenpilot CBM utilization projects and eightkey technology and equipment develop-ment programs in an effort to boost safetyof coal mines and make full use of CBMresource.A total of 1.52 billion cubic meters ofCBM was harvested from the ten pilotprojects in 2008, or 26% of the nation’stotal, the report said. Among them, 830million cubic meters were utilized or 46%of national total, generating 620 millionkilowatt-hours of electricity and supply
