近几年来,在妇外科用作研究性治疗的二氧化碳激光现在被视为最适合于治疗生殖器疣或湿疣的方法。由人体乳头状瘤病毒(HPV)引起的这种传染病给内科医生提供了充分的证据,如果不治疗它就会导致颈癌或其它的癌。CO_2激光能够阻断由性生活传播的癌前传染病的流行。引起这种传染病的病毒可以通过性生活传播到妇女和男人。
