Ladies and Gentlemen, Happy New Year! When I drafted this letter for you, I was in San Jose, California (the Silicon Valley). The atmosphere here is just the opposite of what it was a year ago. News of high-tech company layoffs is still coming in, and people likened the year to “jump off the cliffs of the county.” Compared with the United States, our country’s luck was not bad in 2001. The economy maintained its growth with a sense of “30 years of Hedong and 30 years of Western Hexi.” However, I would like to remind everyone that with China’s accession to the WTO, we will also join the track of the world’s semiconductor industry. This is an ever-changing industry. We must all be well prepared.
