宁夏是我国地震多发、灾害严重的地区之一,在1100多年的时间里,遭受了10次6级、3次7级和两次8级地震的袭击,平均约75年发生1次6级以上地震。自1950年以来的50多年间,宁夏境内发生了12次5.0级以上地震,平均不到5年发生一次5级地震。宁夏因地震造成死亡人数达30万人。地震灾害直接威胁人民群众生命安全,严重影响社会安定和经济社会全面协调可持续发展。
Ningxia is one of the areas where many earthquakes occur in our country and the disaster areas are serious. In 1100 years, Ningxia suffered 10, 6, 3 and 7 earthquakes and 8 earthquakes. An average of over 6 years occurred more than 6 times earthquake. For more than 50 years since 1950, there have been 12 earthquakes of magnitude 5.0 or above in Ningxia, with an average of magnitude-5 earthquakes in less than 5 years. Ningxia caused 300,000 deaths due to the earthquake. The earthquake disaster directly threatens the life and safety of the people, seriously affects social stability and the all-round, coordinated and sustainable economic and social development.
