子宫颈炎是妇科的一种常见病、多发病,我国城乡妇女患这种疾病的人很多,严重地影响抓革命、促生产,并给病人造成痛苦。据上海市妇幼保健组统计1973年普查妇女病,子宫颈炎的发病率高出其他妇女病3～6倍.因此,积极设法治疗子宫颈炎,解除妇女患者的痛苦,防止宫颈癌的发生,是卫生医疗工作的一个重要任务;积极研究试制符合“轻、小、简、廉”要求,有治疗宫颈炎良好效能的医疗器械,也是医疗器械工业的一个重要任务。
