《毛主席给陈毅同志谈诗的一封信》的发表,是我国文化生活中的一件大事。这封信不仅科学地总结了我国历代诗歌发展的丰富经验以及各种样式的艺术规律,而且还为今后诗歌发展的方向指明了前进的道路,这对我国社会主义文艺事业的繁荣发展,必将产生极其深远的影响。这封信,三次提到写诗“要用形象思维”,肯定了形象思维这个文艺的普遍规律,这是对马克思王义认识论和文艺理论的重大发展,是古往今来几千年文艺历史经验的科学总结。
