以颐和园排云殿建筑群大修工程中的实现皇家内檐顶棚墙壁纸张糊饰的恢复为目标,在对排云殿建筑群内檐棚壁从面纸、内层纸、施工工艺等方面进行现场勘察与科技考古的基础上,作者对中国传统棚壁糊饰工艺形式和材料进行了简要梳理,通过实地考察对以故宫为代表的中国传统建筑内檐棚壁糊饰的纸样进行了系统的搜集,并在充分分析和明晰认识的基础上选择了绿色小团龙银印花面纸等作为恢复排云殿内檐历史风貌的载体;进而按照继承而不泥古的原则,在清醒认识排云殿等园内古建殿堂现存棚壁糊饰工艺缺陷与不足的基础上努力为其注入了更加丰富的传统科技内涵,从而在挖掘和传承传统棚壁纸张糊饰工艺的基础上进一步提高了其传统科技的含量,较好地达到了恢复古建内檐历史风貌和延年益寿的目标。在此基础上,作者又对该传统工艺进行了有一定深度的理论认识升华,在指出其价值与挖掘的必要和紧迫性的同时,阐述了在实际恢复工作中依据不同情况应该把握的基本原则,指出进行革新与发展的必要性和努力方向,对棚壁纸张糊饰以及其他传统工艺的挖掘与弘扬具有一定的借鉴意义。
