以1909~1918年《教育杂志》的文章标题为语料,对清末民初汉语外来词的语源进行了探析。指出在《教育杂志》标题中,人名、地名、校名等词语主要以译词的形式进入汉语书面语;外来词中占七成以上比重的是日语借词。对于日语借词,汉语只借形不借音,其中一部分原为古汉语词汇,负载新的词语内涵后重新传入中国;另一部分为日本翻译者利用汉字重新创制的词语,在日语中属于意译词。
Taking the article title of “Education Magazine” from 1909 to 1918 as the corpus, the etymology of Chinese loan words in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China was analyzed. It is pointed out that in the title of “Education Magazine”, the names of people, place names and school names mainly enter Chinese written language in the form of translated words. Loan words occupy more than 70% of the total. For Japanese loanwords, Chinese only borrows no pronunciation. Some of them were originally ancient Chinese words, loaded with new words and then re-introduced into China. The other part was Japanese translators’ words that were recreated by Chinese characters, .
