[Purpose] To investigate ways of responding to HIV / AIDS staff to help them effectively use positive coping styles. [Methods] A total of 342 HIV / AIDS medical staff from AIDS-designated medical institutions at county, township and village levels in Henan Province were tested with a simple coping style questionnaire. SPSS11.5 was used to analyze the test data. [Results] (1) There were significantly more positive responses to senior professional staff of AIDS and HIV / AIDS than junior titles. There are more positive ways to deal with children than without children. Negative coping styles of males, healthcare workers over the age of 40 and high-income AIDS patients were higher than those of females, under-30s and low-income earners respectively. (2) There were significantly more active coping styles of general medical staff than AIDS medical staff, and negative coping styles are significantly less than AIDS medical staff. [Conclusion] The job title, sex, age and income affect the coping style of HIV / AIDS staff. We should improve the coping styles of young, low-title and low-income AIDS staff to safeguard their physical and mental health.
