《锡报》创刊于辛亥后的1912年。初由地方人士蒋哲卿主办,后由吴观蠡接办,是一张民办报纸。因为办报,灵观蠡与关稚晖成了本家之交。 1934年3月5日是关稚晖的花甲寿辰,无锡地方人士荣宗敬、荣德生、裘可桴、丁宝书、刘春圃、吴观蠡等会同旅沪同乡会头面人物30余人,在上海功德林菜馆定下了几桌丰盛寿筵,为吴稚晖庆寿。事前由经办人印发了请柬,并致函关稚晖本人,属时莅沪,接受众人祝贺,事情办得十分妥当。为此
