Objective: To investigate the changes of myocardial histology and ultrastructure in the vicinity of thoracic firearm injuries under high altitude hypoxia. Methods: Fifteen plateau breeders were divided into control group and prevention group. The control group was killed 24 hours after injury. Results: High-speed projectile produced more obvious effect on myocardial tissue after injury. The histopathological and ultrastructural damage of the control group was serious, but the ultrastructural damage of the myocardial cells was the main one. Prevention of injury significantly reduced group, mainly as myocardial interstitial edema and capillary histological changes. CONCLUSION: The above changes may be related to the shock waves, hemodynamic changes and hypoxia caused by high-speed projectile. It should be paid more attention to the injury of organs far away from the injured wounds.
