The Cangshan County Health Bureau in Shandong Province used the “Chinese Village Doctor” magazine as the basic teaching material for county doctors in rural areas. From 1987 to 1991, it had subscribed more than 1,000 copies for five consecutive years. Cangshan County is located in the southern part of Shandong Province and is part of the old revolutionary district, Yimeng Mountain. The county has a population of 1.08 million and 1,170 administrative villages. In recent years, the Cangshan County Health Bureau started from the development of the health service in the old revolutionary base area, and implemented primary health care as a leader. In strengthening the prevention network at the county, township, and village levels, it focused on the construction of “nets”.
