人造板板坯是一种连续运动中的松软物质,用一般的方法难以检测其单位面积的重量。国外通常采用核辐射仪表进行检测,国内目前除少数进口设备外,均未检测。因此产品容重偏差很大。为了改变人造板板坯生产的落后面貌,中国林科院木材工业研究所委托我厂研制人造板板坯单位面积重量的测量仪器,其测量范围要求为2500~30000g/m~2。核辐射仪表的测量范围取决于放射性元素的种类和被测物本身的密度等。仪表的灵敏度在单位面积重量S=1/μ时为最大,而在S更大或者更小的情况下,灵敏度都会减弱。
