According to a report published in August by America Online and Nielsen Media Research, households using the Internet spend 15% less on television than households without access to the Internet. Today’s findings are strikingly similar to the January 1997 report - that Internet users are seeing fewer and fewer TVs. The results of both reports are identical to those used in the analysis. Nielsen notes that most Internet-connected households are often “upper-class,” meaning their age and income are above the U.S. average. The company added that “upper class” usually spend less time watching television than “lower class.” But Nielsen’s spokesman said it is noteworthy
