In the recent two decades, the study of history in Germany shows some remarkable new phenomena. First of all, the concept of socio-cultural history urges researchers to pay attention to the social and cultural backgrounds of historiography, the daily life and interpersonal networks of historians. Second, the perspective of historiography and sociology of knowledge prompted researchers to focus on historical knowledge as a process of social product formation. Thirdly, the historical path of history, which is re-understanding of such concepts as “academic” and “professionalism”, has led to the study of the structural elements and institutional elements of public history and historiography. Finally, the emphasis placed on the reality of historiography leads to the complex relationship between historiography and politics, with nation states, with the publishing industry, and the mass media. In short, the recent history of German historiography has undergone pluralistic critical reflections, attempting to vividly present the daily research activities of historians, socially analyzing the process of historical knowledge production, clearly defining the organizational structure of history and, more clearly, Understand the realistic situation of history major.
