1961年春夏之交的一天,故宫博物院里出现了一次有趣的“导游”活动。导游者是当年清朝的末代皇帝爱新觉罗·溥仪,接受导游的有出版社的编辑和博物院的专家等。 这是溥仪被特赦后第二次来故宫。前一次是1959年,溥仪为同游者杜聿明等人,当了一次义务解说员。 这回来故宫,与前次不同了,溥仪直接就当了导游员。这次他到故宫来,是专为写回忆录《我的前半生》,寻找回忆线索和写作灵感的。游览路线由他提出,游程包括了一部分未开放的像毓庆宫、乾隆花园等地方。当时,故宫博物院正在布置光绪皇帝当年的寝宫原状,以向游客提供直观的历史资料。溥仪在清宫最后的住处,就是当年光绪的住处养心殿,博物院方面认为,这是一个难得的机会,希望溥仪就便给提供些情况。就这样,溥仪这次成了导游者。
