在革命老区湖北黄冈,素有党管武装优良传统。近年来,黄冈军分区注重发挥老区优势,积极适应新形势新任务需要,创造性地开展党管武装工作,走出了一条具有老区特色的兴武强兵之路。先后有两任市委书记被评为广州军区“国防之星”和“国防建设先进个人”;有4个县(市、区)被评为全国和省级“双拥模范城(县)”;军分区党委及所属红安县、罗田县人武部党委被广州军区党委表彰为“先进党委”。
