牡丹,从隋朝时期就开始人工种植,兴盛于唐宋,至今已经1500多年的历史。其雍容华贵、富丽堂皇,是我国特有的药用植物和木本名贵花卉。近年来随着对牡丹深层次的研发利用,发现牡丹全身是宝,根、茎、叶、花、蕊、籽都有较高的利用价值。2013年11月26日,国家相关领导人在基层考察时,参观了牡丹产业,了解油用牡丹的开发情况,总书记在得知牡丹不仅可观赏、药用,还能炼出牡丹籽油,开发出茶、精油、食品、保健品时,总书记表示:“今天长了见识,令人印象深刻。”
