一、监测的由来天福庙拱坝是湖北省重点险坝之一。该坝为浆砌块石双曲拱坝,坝高63.3米,总库容0.6亿立米1974年仓促上马,1978年建成。建成后坝肩稳定分析结果是安全系数均小于1,最低的只有0.69,因此,被迫降低蓄水位运行(蓄水量减少1/3~1/4),等待加固。1982年进行了工程地质与水文地质勘测、岩体力学试验和分析计算,两坝肩稳定安全系数也均小于1,即使维持低水位运行,也须适当加固(加固费用约6~7百万元)。这一结论是否符合实际情况,需要通过可靠的检测加以验证。为此,中国科学院武汉岩土力学研究所计划结合加固
