各位专家、各位同志:由国家教委高教司委托,第二届《大学英语》系列教材研讨会在我校举行。首先我代表复旦大学对到会的各位专家、同志表示热烈的欢迎。这次会议是一次盛会。有107所高校的120位代表参加,其中半数以上是各校大学英语教学部的负责人,所以也是一次重要的会议。我对英语没有什么研究,不过有些爱好,所以只能说一些外行的话。这里我想从一个侧面来讲一讲学习英语的重要性。
Experts, Comrades: Commissioned by the Higher Education Commission of the State Education Commission, the 2nd “College English” series of textbook seminars was held in our school. First of all, on behalf of Fudan University, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the experts and comrades attending the meeting. This meeting is a grand occasion. A total of 120 representatives from 107 colleges and universities, of which more than half are heads of university English teaching departments in each university, are also an important meeting. I have no research on English, but some hobbies, so I can only say some laymen. Here I want to talk about the importance of learning English from one aspect.
