碑刻是我国历史文化的重要载体,传统文化的历史见证,是中华民族的宝贵精神财富。为了进一步做好我省碑刻的抢救、保护、利用和科研工作,在省委省政府的大力支持下,省古籍整理出版工作领导小组决定编撰《陕西碑刻总目提要》,并于2005年底将此项目列为我省“十一五”古籍整理出版规划的重点项目,2006年又被列入国家“十一五”古籍整理出版规划重点项目。
