Reactive oxygen species (ROS) plays an important role in tumorigenesis and progression, but its molecular mechanism has not been elucidated yet. Signal transducers and activators of transcription 3/5 (STAT3 / 5) are highly expressed in tumor cells, and their target gene products can regulate biological characteristics such as proliferation, invasion and angiogenesis. Studies have shown that ROS levels in tumor cells and STAT3 / 5 expression and activity are closely related. This review summarizes the possible molecular mechanisms that regulate ROS and STAT3 / 5 interactions in recent years, which provides a new idea for the treatment of tumors.
