丰田杯赛的全称是“欧洲——南美洲俱乐部冠军丰田杯足球赛”,其前身是“洲际杯赛”。南美足球联合会提出这一构想的初衷是,从南美洲和欧洲各选派一支最优秀的球队较量一下,以衡量南美与欧洲足球水平的高低优劣。
Toyota Cup full name is “Europe - South American Club Championship Toyota Cup”, its predecessor is the “Intercontinental Cup.” The original intention of the South American Football Federation in proposing this concept is to select one of the best teams from South America and Europe to measure the level of football in South America and Europe.
