[Objective] To explore an effective way to educate the labor service personnel who are going out of the country about HIV / AIDS prevention and to raise the self-protection awareness of the service workers who leave the country and reduce the transmission of HIV / AIDS among the service workers who leave the country. [Method] Randomly selected the outbound labor groups that conducted the healthy physical examination in the sub-centers of Jiangsu International Travel Health Care Center in 2008 as the survey subjects. Before and after carrying out publicity and education activities, different questionnaires were distributed to conduct questionnaires to compare the scores of HIV / AIDS knowledge among the respondents. [Results] Eight of the 10 items surveyed before and after the publicity and education were compared, the difference was significant and statistically significant; the “two questions whether AIDS is contagious, can be prevented” There was no significant difference between the scores, no statistical significance; survey found that television, newspapers and periodicals is the most willing to accept exit labor education publicity and education. [Conclusion] Although this propaganda and education has achieved some results, it also reflects that the current publicity and education work is not effective in promoting the use of condoms and other behavioral interventions, propaganda and education forms and content of single and lack of full-time health education staff problem. It is suggested that in the future work, we should pay attention to cultivating professional health education personnel, intensifying the promotion of interventions such as the use of condoms, and adopting more innovative, diverse and easier-to-understand publicity and education methods.
