Objective To study the feasibility of using amlodipine combined with atorvastatin in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods Eighty patients with senile hypertension were randomly divided into control group and observation group from March 2014 to December 2015 in Shenzhen Ninth People’s Hospital, 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with amlodipine. The observation group was treated with amlodipine combined with atorvastatin, and both groups were treated for 16 weeks. The antihypertensive efficacy was compared between the two groups. Before and 16 weeks after treatment, the levels of serum lipids (LDL-C, TC, HDL-C, triglyceride TG)] and serum C-reactive protein (CRP), endothelin (ET), interleukin-6 (IL-6) Results The total effective rate in observation group was 92.50% higher than that in control group (75.00%), the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Before treatment, the serum levels of CRP, ET and IL-6 in the two groups had no significant difference (P> 0.05). After 16 weeks of treatment, the serum levels of CRP, ET and IL-6 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group Significance (P <0.05). The levels of TC, LDL-C, TG and HDL-C in the two groups before treatment were no significant difference (P> 0.05). The levels of TC, LDL-C and TG in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group -C lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The application of amlodipine combined with atorvastatin in elderly patients with high blood pressure is highly feasible, which can effectively improve the blood pressure and blood lipid level and reduce the level of inflammation in the body.
