Objective To understand the quality of life and its influencing factors in asymptomatic HIV infected persons. Methods The WHOQOL-HIV-BREF Chinese version was used to survey 105 HIV-infected asymptomatic HIV-infected individuals. The total quality of life and scores in each field were calculated. The influencing factors of quality of life were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analysis. Results The results of univariate analysis showed that gender, age, marital status, education level, body mass index and route of transmission had different effects on scores and total scores of patients’ quality of life in various fields. CD4 + T cell count had no effect on quality of life. Multivariate analysis showed that the scores of psychological dimension and independence dimension were positively correlated with the educational level. The scores of personal belief in mental support were positively correlated with CD4 + T cell count and gender and marital status (P <0.05). The overall quality of life Scores correlated with gender (P <0.05). Conclusion Asymptomatic HIV patients have lower quality of life and are influenced by gender, educational level and CD4 + T cell count, and should actively intervene in these factors so as to improve their quality of life.
