The construction of the new airport is a major strategic opportunity both for Beijing and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. It is not only an important driving force for Beijing’s economic growth in the next 10 years, but also an important starting point for solving the population, transport and environmental problems in Beijing. It is also an important engine for promoting the third urban wave. The construction of Beijing’s new airport is mainly based on the following three major backgrounds: one is the megacity of a super-large country; the other is the capital economic circle under the new urbanization framework
