Objective To compare the effect of different length of fracture on the denture restoration in the movable denture designed by stress interruption. Methods A total of 60 patients with removable partial dentures who meet the inclusion criteria of mandibular free end missing teeth were randomly divided into three groups. One week after the denture was worn, referral was made to evaluate the free end abutment and mucosal pain. Comparison of three groups after the repair pain situation differences. Results Stress discontinuation design can reduce the occurrence of free end abutment tooth pain after denture repair (P <0.05). Cleft length over the midline can further reduce free abutment tooth pain (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of mucosal tenderness among the three designs (P> 0.05). Conclusions The use of stress-discontinuity design can reduce the pain of free abutment teeth after denture repair. Increased fracture length can further reduce abutment pain. Free end of the tooth conditions can be poor by extending the fracture, reducing the chances of free end abutment tooth repair pain, improve patient comfort.
