翻译是两种语言间的转换,其结果是产生译文。那么,如何评价译文的质量呢?德国学者朱莉安·豪斯的翻译质量评估模式为我们评估译文质量提供了一个较为全面、客观的框架。本文在此模式的基础上,以欧阳修的《醉翁亭记》的两个英译本(杨宪益夫妇译本和Herbert A.Giles译本)为例,选取部分译例,在语场、语旨和语式上分析原文与译文的匹配程度或偏离程度,从而判断译文质量的高低。
Translation is the conversion between two languages, the result is a translation. How to evaluate the quality of translation? The translation quality evaluation model of German scholar Julian House provides us with a more comprehensive and objective framework for assessing translation quality. Based on this model, taking two English translations of Ouyang Xiu ’s “Zui Ing Ting Ji” (Yang Xianyi and Herbert A. Giles translations) as an example, this paper chooses some translated examples, On the analysis of the original text and translation of the degree of deviation or deviation, so as to determine the level of translation quality.
