鉴于我国现实主义电影匮乏的现状,陈凯歌导演的《搜索》无疑是一部现实主义力作,也为中国电影注入了一支现实主义的强心剂。《搜索》对于现实社会的忠诚书写使娱乐至上的商业化电影抹去了一层浮躁,尽管在现实主义批判层面《搜索》并未更进一步,但它的出现仍为中国电影对现实主义传统的继承与发扬做出了巨大的贡献,它的成功也表明现实主义电影与现实独特的审美关系有着无尽的魅力,社会现实与艺术作品的脱节是艺术价值和功能的丧失,现实主义电影的缺失呼唤更多反映现实生活本质的电影出现。
