1985年11月14日——19日,全国首界“中美关系史学术讨论会”在上海复且大学召开。这次讨论会是由《中美关系史丛书》编辑委员会、复旦大学历史系和复旦大学美国研究中心联合举办的。参加讨论会的有来自全国科研、教学、出版等部门专家学者70多人。中国社会科学院副院长兼美国研究所所长李慎之参加了开幕式和闭幕式,并作了有关中国外交政策和中外关系研究的报告。复旦大学校长兼该校美国研究中心主任谢希德参加了闭幕式并讲了话。这次讨论会收到了三十五篇论文,集中讨论了“门户开放政策”和四十年代中美关系,同时也涉及了中美文化交流史和其他时期的中美关系。
From November 14 to November 19, 1985, the first nationwide “Symposium on the History of Sino-American Relations” was held in Shanghai Fuhe University. The seminar was jointly organized by the Editorial Board of the Sino-American History Series, the Fudan University History Department and the Fudan University’s American Studies Center. More than 70 experts and scholars from departments of scientific research, teaching, publishing and other departments attended the seminar. Li Shenzhi, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of the Institute of American Studies, attended the opening ceremony and closing ceremony and made a report on China’s foreign policy and the study of Sino-foreign relations. Xie Hede, Fudan University president and director of the school’s American Studies Center, attended the closing ceremony and made a remark. Thirty-five papers were received during the seminar, which focused on the “Open Door Policy” and Sino-U.S. Relations in the 1940s. It also covered the history of Sino-American cultural exchanges and Sino-U.S. Relations in other periods.
